Club Penguin

This site is all about what CP is, and facts about it.

Club Penguin is an online virtual game where you can chat, play games, make friends from all over the world and simply enjoy yourself. Members (who pay for their membership) have special privileges such as being able to buy clothes, puffles and furniture and being able to enter special rooms at parties. In Club Penguin, you use a cartoon penguin as your player, your penguin has a name and you can dress it up and change its color.

Club Penguin was created the 24th of October 2005, and by August 2007, it was sold to the company of Walt Disney. Club Penguin makes sure everyone who plays it is safe, and it has a special "Ultimate Safe Chat" mode where players can select what they say from a menu, to prevent people from swearing and revealing personal information. But you can also play with the normal mode, where you can type in a bar what you want your penguin to say. The game has special moderators who watch out for people swearing and revealing personal information too, so both modes are safe.

Club Penguin can be played in several languages including english, spanish, french and portuguese.

There are parties every month such as:

During the parties, the whole island is decorated with the theme of the party and special music is put on, free items are given away usually, parties last a few days, and after them, the island returns to normal. Sometimes new rooms are available during parties.

During parties or special events, you can sometimes meet famous CP charcters such as:

Gary (CP's inventor)

Cadence (DJ)

Rockhopper (Pirate)
CP Band (a music band)
Sensei (teacher of card jitsu)

They usually give you a signed background with their picture on it. They are very difficult to find, and a big crowd of penguins is around them.

You can also become a special agent or a tour guide. To be a special agent, you must be at least 30 days old (in Club Penguin) and you must answer some questions in a little quiz. If you pass the quiz, you recieve a spy phone, which you can use in missions and to teleport around the island and to the secret spy room (HQ) which is in the changing rooms at the Sports Shop. Being a secret agent, you must keep Club Penguin safe by reporting (sending a message to CP saying what a penguin did wrong, which can be done by pressing a button on their player cards) any penguins swearing, giving out personal information or being rude or mean. You can also complete  series of special mission where you need to use logic to solve problems around CP.

To be a tour guide you must also pass a special quiz, and you recieve a tour guide hat, after that, your job is to show new penguins around the island.

Puffles are pets you can adopt at the Pet Shop, they are small, fluffy and come from the wild. There are puffes that are: red, blue, pink, purple, yellow, black, white, orange and each of them has a different personality, different toys and like different games. Some of the puffles you can take with you to games like the red puffle likes to surf and the pink puffle likes to play Aqua Grabber. Puffles live in your igloo (which is your own personal house you can decorate if you are a member, and where only your friends and people you invite can go to), and you need to feed them, make them sleep and play with them. You can also go for a walk around the island with them. If you're not a member, you can only buy red and blue puffles.

There are lots of games around CP to play, they win you virtual coins which you can use to buy things in the gift shop and sports shop and stage. Some games are:

In some of the games like Card Jitsu, Card Jitsu Fire, Ice Hockey and Soccer you don't get coins, and some of them you play on your own, some you play in multiplayer mode. When Rockhopper comes to the island, you can play Treasure Hunt in the Captains Quarters.

Rockhopper comes once every few months, he always brings rare items and usually news. He was the first penguin to bring puffles to CP, and his first mate, Yarr is a puffle. His ship has 4 rooms: the main deck, Crow's Nest, Ship (downstairs) and Captain's Quarters. To enter the Captain's Quarters you must get a special key (which is a pin) that can be found in Rockhopper's Journal (Bookroom).

CP has many rooms, in each room you can do different things, like play games, read or chat with friends. CP is getting bigger, every year we discover a new secret room like the Dojo, or the underground caves (which are to open very soon).

In the bookroom, (above coffee shop) you can read story books written by penguins during writing competitions. You can also view yearbooks and Rockhopper's Journal (where you can find the key to his Quarters). There are some books which you have to write and select the word which you want in the text! You are payed some coins for doing this!

The box dimension is a large purple room with, well...boxes. To get into it buy a box with a purple swirlie in it for your igloo, or go to someone's igloo (that has the box), then walk over to it...
