Stories

Here are some stories written by me:

Herbert's Story (written for Queen Binawa's story contest February 2010):

Chapter one: The Capture

I was once walking around CP, when I realized I didn't know where I was anymore... I walked around for hours trying to find my way back home, but it was impossible. The snow under my flippers kept turning colder and colder, the sun went down and night came. The chilly wind made me shiver and I wished I was back home curling up in front of the fireplace.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps and leaves swishing around as if they were in a thunderstorm. I was so scared, I don't know how to describe it, I can't describe it. I felt as if my heart had stopped, my blood was turning to ice. All my instincts told me to run for it, to get away from there as fast as I could, but my flippers wouldn't move. Something inside my head was yelling: "RUN! RUN WHILE YOU CAN! GET AWAY FROM  HERE RIGHT NOW!" but my body was completely still, as if I were made of stone.

And from the shadows suddenly emerged... no, it couldn't be. "It's impossible" I thought "this can't be real." But, unfortunatedly it was. His huge teeth glittered under the moonlight like sharp knives, his huge eyes stared at me as if I was an apetizing snack. And then, Herbert attacked.

I tried to run, my senses fully awake now, but I couldn't loosen myself from Herbert's tight grip. His paws, the size of twenty puffles each, grabbed me and pulled me after him. His massive feet made the floor tremble as if an earthquake shook the earth. I got scratched and hurt, as Herbert was dragging me as if I were a toy. I was terrified, I had never been more afraid in my whole life.

Chater two: The secret hideout

After what seemed several hours, but was probably only a few minutes, we got to his secret hideout. The enormous cave entrance loomed before me like a giant. It's shadow covered everything that was less than ten feet around. The tunnel I could see from outside veered into darkness, and to my horror, Herbert dragged me inside.

The tunnel seemed to never end, it had so many twists and turns I quickly lost count. My back was scratched from being dragged on the cold stone floor. I felt tired and scared and I wished I was anywhere else, except here. I was fascinated by how Herbert knew his way in the dark, but told myself he was probably used to this tunnel, as he walked through it several times a day. The tunnel walls seemed to be closing in on me, and I was getting really nervous now. I hated enclosed spaces, so this wasn't helping either.

Finally. At last. We exited the tunnel into a huge cavern with walls thirty, no forty, fifty feet high. I craned my neck back in order to see the ceiling, but it was so high, I couldn't see it. And besides, up there it was so dark, who knows what horrible creatures might be lurking there, looking down on me and thinking if i'd be more apetizing with ketchup or peanut butter.

The cave was maybe the length of the ice rink or longer, it was full of desks that had papers and blueprints thrown all over them, and long bookshelves that were ten feet high and had absolutely every book you could think of. You name it, that book was there. There was a huge blackboard on one end with sketches of evil machines and even more evil plans. I was horrified to see how Herbert's mind seemed to work.

I now realized everything was Herbert's fault. The earthquake, the avalanche, that day when the pizza parlour and the coffee shop had been in total chaos because someone had broken in and stolen stuff. All Herbert.

Now you see, back then I wasn't a secret agent, and I had only heard stories about Herbert, and I had never believed them, I had always thought they were stories to frighten little penguins. Until now. I realized all the stories were true, the horrible things that had happened to CP had been Herbert's fault.

Anger bubbled inside me. I was furious, enraged more like. Everything that had put all my friends in CP in danger, had been because of this bear that was now standing in front of me as if deciding what to do next. I felt angry, so very very angry. I could have thrown myself against Herbert on this very moment, and I wanted to. I really wanted to. But I wasn't silly either. I knew if I did that, I'd never get out of this cave alive.

Chapter three: Herbert's Tale

I shook in anger, trying to control myself. It took a while, but I finallt calmed down. I needed a plan, something to distract Herbert, but suddenly he said: "Want some pizza?"

Whaaaaaaat??? I totally wasn't expecting that. How could he say such a thing after dragging me about ten miles through a dark tunnel and scaring me out of my pants!?!?!?!

Then I said something like: "huh??" and the conversation went on like this:

"I asked you if you wanted some pizza, you know, a yummy food with hot sauce and stuff on it? Pizza?" Herbert said.

"Err...OK I guess..." I replied, shocked, and taking a slice of pizza.

"So... what brings you here to my super secret hideout?"

"You did! You dragged me through all those dark tunnels to get here!" I shouted.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, relax. I always do that. It looks cool, like a big scary dude, I'm training to be one of those and ride a bike with a leather jacket on ya know?" he said coolly.

"Why do you do all those things? The earthquake, the avalanche...everything! Why?" I asked almost in tears.

"Well I admit I DO need a hobby, but..."

"THIS IS YOUR HOBBY??" I yelled.

"Yeah... your point?" he asked stupidly.

"You do know, that everytime you practice your so-called "hobby" you're putting hundreds of innocent penguins in danger! You're destroying CP, making penguins scared and worried, just so you can have FUN??"

"I...I hadn't thought of it that way..." he replied.

"Well please know us penguins are actually  really really really scared and worried everytime you do something like that, it...its makes us want to cry and hide under a rock. It's terrible."

"Oh well... I guess I COULD go back to baseball, I mean if... if you really want me to..." he said quietly.

"Yes, please, please, PLEASE go back to baseball. Baseball's your thing you know? NOT destroying the world." I said.

"OK then, I'll leave you penguin alone..." he whispered.

"Wait a minute...I get it! You're lonely! You destroy CP, because you're lonely and sad, and jealous of us penguins who do have friends, aren't you?" I asked.

"Yeah... I used to live in the North Pole, but it was so cold I decided to travel somewhere sunny. I ended up here and I was angry because I only found more snow, but lonely and scared too... I needed friends. The friends I never had back home."

"If you wanted friends, why not come talk to us, instead of trying to kill us?" I asked.

"Oh come on, you know everyone would run away and scream if they saw some big guy like me coming near them..." he said.

"Don't cry Herbert, I'm sure everyone will want to be your friend if you say you're sorry for everything and just be nice. If you explain like you did to me, you'll have tons of friends in no time. Because everyone needs friends, they're important to us, part of our lives. Let's go Herbert, let's show CP what a good guy you can be!

Chapter four: A million friends

And so, Herbert and I traveled to CP, and sure, at first, everyone screamed and secret agents came forward yelling: "Get back Herbert!", but not for long...

I had never had many friends in CP before, mainly because I'm really shy and I can't bring myself to say hi to people. But hey, bring Herbert the polar bear to say sorry and save CP from destruction and suddenly you're everyone's new best friend.

From that day on, my best friend Herbert and I had tons of friends. Loads of penguins loved Herbert, they though he was funny, friendly, nice and totally forgave him for trying to destroy CP.

Meanwhile, I had made tons of new friends too, because as I said before, become everyone's best friend by bringing Herbert and saving CP from destruction!

I had never been so happy, I had made sure no one was gonna destroy CP anymore, and I had gotten myself a few hundred extra friends, and had made Herbert, along with millions of penguins smile.

Soon after that, I joined the PSA to make sure I could keep helping penguins today, tomorrow and forever.

How Orange Puffles Came To Be (for kkkkkk123's story contest in february 2010)

Picture it, Club Penguin, 1367.
No igloos, no buildings, no penguins, no nothing... except puffles.

The furry little creatures had lived there for hundreds of years, even before the first penguins came to CP. They were happy, living in some underground caves (under what we now know as the cave) where they were warm, they had plenty of water and space to live in. They lived as one big comuntiy, they slept in dens inside small opening in the rocks, played all day and simply kicked back and relaxed.
The puffles were much more intelligent back then, they had advanced minds and knew how to speak normal english (not their nowadays `squeak!´ language)and invented machines and stuff to help them lead a more comfortable life. They invented lights, that would turn on if the puffles threw snowballs into a big power generator machine, they made doors and secret cave entrances and stuff only they knew about (mainly because they were the only living things down there). These puffles, I believe were related to Gary (they're both inventing maniacs).
Picture it, Club Penguin, 1488.
Puffles were still living their simple lives in the underground caves, when suddenly... CRACK! BOOM! CRUNCH! SPLASH!
The whole cave trembled as an earthquake shook CP. The puffles, scared left their caves for the first time in 500 years. They escaped into CP and a great, big chunk of rock covered the entrance to the secret caves. Loads of the things they had invented were crushed under rocks and destroyed. Other survived, like the lights and the power generator, but were of no use now, as they were trapped inside the cave.
The puffles took separate paths, each puffle trying to survive on its own in the wild enviroment and struggling to get O berry's and water.
Picture it, Club Penguin, 2003.
Puffles had lived for a very long time in the CP wilderness, and they had lost many of their amazing skills with time. They were now no longer able to speak english, and they couldn't invent stuff, as their minds had now become smaller than they used to be. They had also lost their tails (yeah, I know Puffles used to have tails but developed over time and lost them) and became smaller and fluffier.

One day, the first ever penguin discovered CP, Rockhopper. He was an adventurous pirate who had sailed through the seven seas and had lived as many adventures as trees there are in CP. He had an island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, where he kept his treausres and he used his island as a summer house too. Now, he discovered a new land. Club Penguin. It was him, who decided to name it like this, as he was a Penguin and liked Chess Clubs, but decided "Club Chess Penguin" didn't sound so well...

So after years of exploration, he found CP, named it and found something else too... puffles. He liked them, and decided to take some with him. But,unfortunatedly, he only found red puffles. He took about 50 back with him to his island and kept one as his pet, Yarr.

Picture it, Club Penguin, 2004.
CP was now full of nice, friendly penguins who ran around making friends and lived in igloos. The puffles still lived in the wild, until one day...
Rockhopper, came back to CP, talked to the penguins, explained how the island was called and showed the penguins the red puffles. So soon, the penguins opened a pet shop and started selling the red puffles Rockhopper had brought them as pets. Tons of penguins were really happy, and the puffles were happy too, so their red cousins who still lived in the wilderness came out too!
The years passed and one by one all the puffles started to come out: blue, green, pink, purple, black, yellow, white...

But one puffle still didn't like the idea of coming out to CP... the orange puffle.
He was a friendly, playful puffle who just wanted to play with his friends, but decided not to go out with them to meet penguins, as he was a bit afraid of penguins.
Picture it, Club Penguin, 2010.
Now with more building than ever, every colo puffles and more. Penguins soon discovered some weird caves udner the mine, with lights and a snowball powered generator. They explored the caves for a while and then decided to close them down for safety.
Meanwhile the orange puffle, realized penguins were no threat, they had explored the caves were he and his friends used to live, and they hadn't destroyed them or anything. Besides, his friends were very happy to be living with penguins, so the orange puffle decided to appear.
At first he was uncertain, appearing every so often in the box dimension and ski lodge, waiting to see how penguins would react to him. After a while, he saw penguins were excited about his appearences, and was almost convinced to come out.
But what finally made him see how friendly penguins were, was how fun they seemed to be! They threw a puffle party! The orange puffle couldn't resist, and soon he was out in CP, and being sold in the Pet Shop. He was as happy as he had ever been, and his owners treated him very well. The orange puffle knew he had made the right decission at last.
THE END - or is it?

Rockhopper Island

Chapter one: He has arrived

The excitement could be felt in the air as everyone dashed to the beach. Run! Run! Run! Everyone was thinking the same thing. He was back in Club Penguin, and this time, I was determined to find him and meet him. The only problem: so was everyone else. I didn't let this stop me anyway, if I could just get there fast enough...

There, the Migrator was coming nearer and nearer every second. Almost here now. Ten feet left, eight feet, five, three... he's here! I rushed foward ignoring the yells and complaints of people as I pushed past them. And now, as he came out of his gigantic ship, bathed in yellow sunlight and with a white smile gleaming, I thought I had never seen a more elegant penguin in my whole life. Rockhopper was even better than how I had imagined him. He walked calmly onto the beach, smiling and talking to penguins, with his loyal first mate, Yarr, on his shoulder. His hat was sitting on his head at just the perfect angle, cocked slightly sideways, but not in an untidy way. His boots crunched on the white sand, and he looked around the crowd of penguins struggling to get a good look at him.

I tried to get past the crowd, I really did try, but I couldn't. Penguins were surrounding him on every side and I just couldn't get near enough to talk to him. After a tiring hour of pushing and being pushed, I saw Rockhopper leave for a while, saying he was going to go surfing with Yarr. I couldn't believe my ears. All my efforts had been wasted. I sighed sadly and started  making my way back home, but then, my friend Magno20 appeared with his surf board and called me over.
"Wanna come catch some waves?" he asked.
"No, sorry, I was trying to meet Rockhopper, but he left and I'm in a bad mood right now..." I replied.
"Surfing will cheer you up! Besides, I heard he was headed for the cove, maybe we'll meet him there."
"You think so?"
"I know so. Let's go!"

So off we went, chatting all the way and thinking of the excitement of meeting Rockhopper. When we reached the cove, my heart sank when I saw he wasn't there. But, I told myself  "Relax, he must be surfing, he'll come back soon." So Magno20 and I surfed for a while waiting for him to come back. Soon, Whizzbobrox and Sliddo joined us and, sure, we had lots of fun, but my mind was always somewhere else, thinking of Rockhopper and searching the horizon, hoping to see him catching a wave and making his way back to shore. But he didn't come. Not in the whole afternoon.
My friends all wanted to go to their igloos now, complaining about the cold and looking foward to playing with their puffles.

"Go ahead," I told them, "I won't be long."
"Are you sure?" asked Whizzbobrox.
"Yep, I'm sure, i'm just gonna sit here in the beach for a while,"
"OK, let's go to my iggy guys, meet you there Podlepops!" Slidoo said.
Somehow, I knew I wasn't going to make it to his igloo tonight. Somehow, I knew.

Chapter two: Obsessive ways

It was late, really late, when I heard voices behind the rocks. I had been sitting there on the cove for hours, thinking about Rockhopper, about how I deseperatedly needed to meet him and about how determined I was to do so. I knew I was being kinda obsessive with the Rockhopper thing, but it really meant a lot to me. All my friends had met him, except me. That's when I heard the whispering, and a whimper of fear too. I stood up, alert, and listened. Silence. I must have been imagining it. Then it came again, that harsh voice, almost threatening and the gasp of pain. I could hear my heart beating so loud, everyone from here to the ski village must have heard it. What should I do? Call for help? Run away and pretend it never happened? Heroically jump into action and save the penguin that had trouble? I was panicking, when I decided to just go a bit closer to see what was happening.

What I saw made me freeze in horror. There was Rockhopper, lying facedown on the sand behind the rocks, with his flippers tied up with a rope and his hat thrown on the sand a couple of feet away. He was shaking incontrolably and I guessed it wasn't because of the cold. Beside him, standing up and with a cruel smile on his face, stood Inklion44. Inklion had always been a kind of creepy, lonely penguin, who was into evil stories and dark secrets. I had never actually talked to him, but I had heard rumours about him. They said, he had spent all his life tracking down Rockhopper, and had never even caught a glimpse of him. He was one of the oldest penguins in the island and some said, he was as mad as a hatter. People had also told me that his friends had rejected him because of his obsessive ways to find Rockhopper. He had once started spreading rumours that he had found Rockhopper Island just to catch Rockhopper's attention, and that once he had pretended to be sick with an incurable illness just so Rockhopper came to visit him.
"Sorry to have taken so long, dear friend" Inklion44 said "I had to make final preparations for our trip."
"What trip?" gasped Rockhopper with a hoarse voice, "where are you taking me?"
"Me? I'm taking you nowhere, you are taking me to Rockhopper island."
"What?"
"As you heard, Rockhopper, we are taking a vacation to your secret little island."

Chapter three: Insane

I didn't know what to do. I thought about running to get help, but by the time I got back they would be gone. Then, Inklion44 pulled Rockhopper up and pushed him foward.
"Walk!" he said harshly.
Rockhopper stumbled across the sandy cove and over the pointy rocks, always with Inklion behind him. I followed silently, praying no one would see me. After a while, we got to a kind of secret lake I had never even seen in my life. It was big. Very big. The lake was enormous, and its surface glittered in the moonlight. Small waves crashed against the shores and drenched the white sand. At one end of the secret lake, a river formed and headed outwards toward the sea. I couldn't believe my eyes. What was this? How come no one had ever seen it?  A dark forest of trees hid the lake from the rest of the island, and I desesperatedly hoped we wouldn't have to go into the forest, where weird sounds seemed to come from.

I now realized where we were, the lake was behind the forest, next to the cove and I felt really stupid not to have noticed it before. It didn't even appear on the Club Penguin map! Then I saw the ship, little did I know about how long I would spend on that ship, as my eyes set on it for the very first time. It was by far bigger than the Migrator, maybe 50 feet long and 40 feet wide. Its tall mast stood high above our heads, and the white sails rippled in the wind. The wood was polished and so clean it even seemed to glow.

To my horror, Inklion44 said:
"Well Rockhopper, now you're about to board a ship even better, faster and more magnificent than the Migrator. Welcome, to the Golden Shadow."
"What?" Rockhopper said, "I'm sorry to tell ya matey, but you're as mad as a hatter!"
"Oh, but this is just the begining! I can't wait to see the destination!" he said with a powerful voice.
"I'm not taking you to my island! Why do you want to go anyway?" Rockhopper cried in a desesperate voice.
"Well, its simple really. If I can't find fame and friends by meeting you, I'll have to find them by finding your island! I've searched for years, and i've never even got close to meeting you, and I'm sick of it! How many penguins, like me have been rejected, disappointed and even gone mad when they didn't find you! Tell me, Rockhopper, how many? I don't want to see any more penguins suffer because of you! So if I find your island, I can be famous, and then penguins will find comfort by meeting me, instead of you, as i'll be famous! I will always be in the streets of CP meeting penguins, so everyone will have the chance to meet me! But, you, you're never around so hardly anyone gets to meet you!" he yelled completely out of control.

"That's insane! Can you even hear yourself talking? I don't get to meet everyone 'cause its impossible! There are too many penguins in CP to meet all of them, and besides its kinda like a game, tryin' to find me, its fun for most penguins, if they don't get obsessed like you do!"

"Maybe, or maybe not, but maybe I'm right, and what if I am? Let those penguins suffer? No! I'm sorry Rockhopper, but you are going to show me the way to your island or face the consequences."

Rockhopper gulped and my heart stopped beating. Did I sound so insane when I talked about Rockhopper? Was this how my friends saw me? A vicious, obsessive penguin? Was this how I was going to end up?

Chapter four: All on board!

Inklion and Rockhopper made their way towards the Golden Shadow, and I was torn between helping and running away. "Dont be such a coward!" I told myslef, "go, help!" But it wasn't as easy as it sounded.
But quickly enough I found myself running after them, and as they climbed on board, I followed silently and hid in the shadows, scared half to death and praying it would all be over soon. Oh, how wrong I was.

I climbed the mast and hid in the sails, where I could not be seen from deck. The minutes passed and minutes turned to hours. At night, I slept badly and I was terribly hungry. The next day, I found myself climbing down the mast to go and fetch food. I carried a few fish up to my hiding place and ate one of them, deciding to save the rest of them for later. I was bored to death, and, from where I was, I could watch Inklion44 forcing Rockhopper to tell him where to go if we wanted to arrive in Rockhopper island. We had already left the secret lake and traveled down the river and into the sea, by now Club Penguin was just a speck in the horizon.

A week or so later, I was sleeping, still hidden in the sails, when I heard a shout of joy.
"We have arrived!"
It was Inklion44, and by the look of it, we had arrived somewhere, probably Rockhopper island. The island was fairly big, smaller than Club Penguin, but much bigger than the iceberg. It was covered in green plants, forests of trees and there was a big hill in the middle. The sandy beaches were like tropical paradises and there was a hut in the beach, probably Rockhopper's house. At one end of the beach, a small path led into the forest, where the screeches of monkeys and parrots could be heard. I had never seen either a monkey or a parrot in my life, but I didn't want to either, thank you very much.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't a stowaway!" the voice came from right next to me, and I jumped a foot in the air just by the shock of it. Inklion was sitting next to me on the mast, his face twisted into a smug smile. I was in big trouble, and I knew it.

Chapter five: Tropical Paradise

Inklion44 grabbed me and pushed me out of my hiding place and threw me on deck. Considering the mast was twenty feet tall, the fall was pretty bad. I fell down hearing air whistle around me, and I landed with a sickening crunch. I seriously didn't want to know. I lay there on deck not being able to move and just closed my eyes. My whole body ached and my head throbbed.
"Would you be as nice as to tell us what were you doing on my boat?" Inklion said in a soft voice.
"You evil, vicious penguin!!" I yelled back "How dare you even think of kidnaping Rockhopper to find fame? You're insane! You're mad and evil and cruel!" I was now shouting anything I could think of, as I felt too tired and sore as to try thinking reasonably.
"So you were following us from the begining were you? Smart. I must admit I hadn't noticed you, but now I have, you'll have to pay the consequences. And next time you decide to hide in the sails, try not to look down at deck so much, that just makes you easy to spot."
I was burning with anger. How could I have been so stupid? I hated this penguin, he deserved being hated by everyone!

I was pulled to my feet harshly. I winced in pain, but refused to cry out. I was pushed against the mast and tied up. I felt like crying, all was lost. Rockhopper would be left stranded in his island without a boat to get back to CP, I was probably gonna die. Nothing was turning out right today. But I blinked back my tears, I didn't want Inklion44 to see me crying. I looked away from his cruel face. How could someone be so mean?
I watched as Inklion, with a knife behind Rockhopper's back, forced him to move foward. They left the boat and made their way accross the beach, and into the rainforest. Soon, I couldn't see them anymore, and then I burst out in tears. I cried for long, feeling miserable, but then after a while I stopped.
"Get a grip, stop crying you need to get out!" I said out loud to no one in particular, as there was no one around to listen.
I wriggled against the rope that had me tied to the mast. I tried to get free, tried to cut it, but it was impossible. It was wrapped around me too hard. Then, I saw something that lifted my spirits. A few feet away, a barrel containing water stood on deck. On top of it were a knife and some coins. If I could just reach it... I reached foward as far as I could go, but found out I could only grasp the edge of the barrel. I decided to topple it over. I grabbed the edge of the barrel and pushed it onto the floor. It made a terrible clatter, but after a few second everything was silent again. Then with my foot, I managed to touch the knife, and I kicked it towards me. I grabbed it and cut the ropes that were imprisioning me. I was free! I decided to keep the knife just in case and tucked it into the pocket of my jacket.
I ran to the other side of deck and jumped into the shallow water of the beach. I made my way accross the beach and into the forest. Here, everything was cold and creepy. I could hear animals moving around, some small and some seriously big. I could feel the leaves on the trees scratching against my skin and the only thing I could see was trees and more trees and darkness ahead. The air smelled musty and it was hot and sticky too. But the worst thing, what had my nerves on edge and sent shivers down my spine was the eyes. I could feel hundreds of eyes watching me. They analized my every move and followed me everywhere. I could feel them burning into my back, staring at me. I started running, as fast as I could now, stumbling on tree roots and twigs. I was running blindly, as I couldn't see anything ahead of the next tree. My heart was pounding really hard and I was sick with fear. Cold sweat trickled down my forehead. I wanted to get out of here. I needed to get out of here, and fast.
Finally,to my great relief, I reached the foot of the hill I had observed from the boat. I climbed up and when I was near the top, I heard voices.
"Isn't this wonderful!" Inklion cried happily, "the forest, the beach, everything! And it's all mine! Mine!"
"It isn't!" replied Rockhopper, "this island belongs to me!"
"Not anymore, dear friend. Not anymore."
I followed the two of them around  for a few hours, as Inklion was exploring the island. And some island it was. The beaches were long, with white sand and gleaming waves crashing on shore. Small pebbles dotted the beach, and the hot sun warmed it all up. The forest seemed even peaceful from some places. With lush, green vegetation and tall, old trees. I only wished it were as beautiful from the inside. The hill shadowed the island, with an air of importance and senority. The sky was blue, not one cloud floating around. It really seemed like a tropical paradise.

Chapter six: The battle of the sea

Rockhopper led the way to his hut in the beach, where he said he stored all the goods he planned on bringing to CP. They both entered the hut on Inklion's orders and I stayed outside, fearing they would see me if I went inside with them. When they exited the small hut, Inklion ran ahead whooping and yelling in delight.
"Rockhopper! Psss! Rockhopper, over here!" I whispered.
The tired pirate turned around, and when he saw me his eyes lit up.
"You're alive! When I saw Inklion push you off the mast I thought you were dead for sure!"
"No, I'm OK. Listen Rockhopper, we need to get out of here fast. Lets go now while he's distracted!"
"I agree. Lets go."
So we ran over to the rocks on one side of the beach and climbed over them, crouching down in case Inklion looked this way. He didn't seem to have noticed Rockhopper was missing yet. Good thing. I don't know what he would do if he noticed. We ran into the water, making our way to the Golden Shadow. I held my breath in anticipation and as we where reaching the rope we would use to climb on board we heard a scream of surprise.
"No! Come back here Rockhopper!" Inklion44 yelled.
"RUN!!" Rockhopper shouted. I didn't need telling twice. I ran full speed accross the shallow water and threw myself against the rope. Inklion was geting nearer. He ran into the water with angry, maniatic eyes, and screaming curses at the top of his voice. I climbed up and helped Rockhopper on board too. We were on the process of cutting the rope when Inklion climbed on board too. I ran to the steering wheel and Rockhopper lifted the anchor. The boat started moving away from the island and fast. Inklion was upon me. He threw himself on me and I let out a yell of surprise as I hit the floor. Rockhopper took the wheel and kept steering, while I wrestled frantically with Inklion.
We rolled over deck in a tangle of flippers. He kicked me mercylessly in the ribs and sent me flying to the other side of the ship, where I hit my head on the floor. I saw Inklion jumping on Rockhopper, but I was too weak to move. I saw them wrestle on the floor and I struggled not to fall unconscious. After a few more dazed seconds I pushed myself up with a groan and launched myself against Inklion. I pushed him to the floor and Rockhopper ran to the wheel. I hit Inklion on the head and just then, remembered the knife I had decided to keep. I pulled it out of my pocket and hit him on the side of the head with the flat part of the blade. By now, the island was far away, and I realized this boat really was as fast as Inklion had said.
I fell onto the floor when Inklion's weight landed on me. He took out his own knife and made a deep gash in my forehead. I blinked blood out of my eyes, in a frantic effort to keep conscious.
He used the moment I was dazed and confused to jump on the and pin me down on the floor. He pressed his knife on my throat, and a thin trickle of blood fell on the polished wood floor.
"Surrender now and feel less pain," Inklion hissed in my ear.
"Never."
I heaved Inklion off me and pushed him against the side of the ship. I realized this was my only chance, and as much as I didn't want to do this to anyone, I pushed him off the ship and into the icy cold water. I watched his esxpression turn from hatred to horror in five seconds. He fell down and into the sea with a splash. Inklion dissappeared from view and sank into the black water, forever.

Chapter seven: The end of it all

A week later, Rockhopper and I arrived in CP. Once we docked the ship in the secret lake, the pushed our way out of the forest surrounding it and went back to town. When people saw us their reactions were very different. Some showed surprise, shock, horror at the state we were in or even tears of relief. Forr the next few days, we were interviewed by Aunt Arctic, and we told her the whole story from beggining to end. My friends had been worried sick about me and now were hugging me in relief. A few weeks later, our story was still being told around the island, and it was something I wouldn't want to repeat.
We showed everyone the secret lake, and soon penguins started building stuff to improve it and made a new game down there. I was glad it was all over now, this was the end of it all.

THE END.
